Stone and brick walks, secluded terraces, and private gardens unite these two historic homes in the heart of Cambridge. The owner had renovated his 1920’s Four- square home but it was out of place in its site, sitting up too high and sporting pastel colors that stood in contrast with the neighborhood. To fit the new architecture to the site, it was decided to fill the rear portion of the property 18” and surround it with a “Rock Rose” color lattice fence enhanced with rich planting. The warm color, Colorado flagstone and Boston brick paving provided a harmonious color balance.
