Thanks to a progressive-minded client, the new Northfields Ponds Park at Stapleton has become a demonstration of how a storm water management facility can become a popular public park and wildlife sanctuary that elegantly complements the natural habitat. Aerial photography showing river delta drainage patterns was used to develop a real-world metaphor for the landscape design. The pond manages 1600 cfs from the surrounding 460 acres of commercial development.
