5-Way Intersection Downtown Improvements

Chroma Design assisted Elan Planning and Design in preparing a master plan for the redevelopment of the 5-Way intersection and surrounding streetscape in the heart of the Village of Hamilton. After attending a public workshop and client presentation, Chroma prepared a set of project objectives and a Preliminary Concept Plan. Following additional meetings, discussions, and refinement of recommendations, renderings were prepared depicting the proposed improvements within the public right-of-way. The improvements are designed to reduce vehicular pavement, clarify pedestrian crosswalks, improve pedestrian safety, add sidewalk cafes, and make thematic additions including brick sidewalks, period lighting, and public art.
