Canastota Regional Park Master Plan
Canastota, NYThe village of Canastota lies in Madison County, a fertile region of Central New York State once known as an agricultural capital for growing hops. Chroma Design teamed with Elan Planning and Design to create the master plan for a new regional sports park in Canastota. The park is proposed to include a soccer complex, sledding hill with lift, amphitheater for performances, picnic areas, pavilions themed as hop barns, and an extensive children’s playground complete with adventure courses and water play. The team carefully sited the park components to work with the existing topography and so that the center of activity would be located at the “knuckle” between park access roads and proposed park uses. The next step of design will include further public involvement as well as program, and budget refinement.
