Six Bridges

Chroma Design has been working for the City of Omaha to develop an aesthetic enhancement concept for the existing six identical downtown bridges that cross Interstate 480. Research of existing land uses, aerial photos, and historic plans resulted in the proposal to highlight the differences between the destinations at each end of the bridges. The destination to the east is “downtown” Omaha and destinations to the west are primarily “homes and parks.” New street corners, walkways, bridge fencing, railings, and iconic monuments are proposed to highlight the proposed themes.
